Room 511: Wednesday Afternoon

Francine might no longer possess a book about flowers, but she still had a computer, a tiring week behind her, and a somewhat pouty pathological dislike of Feeling Stupid.

So she was currently trying to decide which to google first: three dollar bill or "Sex: how do we stop failing flailing?"

...Eventually she would also get around to military support services, yes.

Since it was kind of warm, the door was cracked open a bit, as was the window. A computer screen, after all, she could hide a lot more successfully than a book.

Yes, she really thought that was true. Feel free to pat her on the head as you walk down the hall. You'll hear her humming, since That Song is still stuck in her head.

[OOC: expecting The Twitter, but open!]

Dinah had been humming That Song all day, when not focused on not making a mistake in Criminal Justice. Maybe song calls to song?

She knocked on the door, and peeked in. "Hey!"

[identity profile] blondecanary.livejournal.com 2009-05-27 09:32 pm (UTC)(link)
"Three dollar cafe?" Dinah asked, seeing the screen, then blinking at the flinging of Francine's self. That was pretty intense for whatever she was researching. "What the...?"

[identity profile] blondecanary.livejournal.com 2009-05-27 09:56 pm (UTC)(link)
"She said a lot of somethings about him last night. I haven't laughed so hard in ages," Dinah said, sitting down with a snicker. "And who did you think I was that you had to hide the screen?" She blinked at the newest website courtesy of Google. "Hunh. Okay, that's catchy."

[identity profile] blondecanary.livejournal.com 2009-05-27 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Dinah grinned at her, shaking her head. "Right. I forgot. Pillows. Flowers." She tilted her head at the computer screen, then diffidently asked, "Why are you looking up a gay film festival?"

[identity profile] blondecanary.livejournal.com 2009-05-27 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Dinah did a double-facepalm, partly to put her hands over her mouth. Eyes crinkling over her fingers, she mumbled, "You didn't know? About Arthur and Leto?" Pink, pinker, pinkest.

[identity profile] blondecanary.livejournal.com 2009-05-27 10:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Dinah had known about half of those, but touch-telepathy was a help that way. And Leto had been the one to tell her. "Well. I mean, Arthur's interested in girls, too. And so're Chuck and Hannibal. But." She winced at Francine, and shrugged. "Sooo, you were half-right?" Maybe not as comforting as it could be.

[identity profile] blondecanary.livejournal.com 2009-05-27 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Dinah grimaced at the reminder about Leto, and lifted her shoulders in a feeling of whatcha-gonna-do. "It's okay. He told me about him and Arthur when I first admitted I had a crush on him, ages ago. Which was why I wasn't going to date him at all." Until things got massively more intense and complicated, ending up with more limit-setting on touching and kissing or anything. "Anyway. Maybe more people you knew were. And it's just people here are more comfortable admitting it? I don't know, sometimes it seems like a lot more people on the Island are bi or gay to me, too."

"Or the glitter. Zack told me he heard it can make boys kiss. Speaking of him." Dinah turned a little pinker, but smiled, bouncing. "Nothing else yet, since the ice cream date on Monday. But it was fun and he's going to get me Pixie Stix!" Courting gift of bouncy dorks! "And he's cute, and fun, and heroic. I don't know. I just... feel good around him, you know?" Not terminally confused or behind the curve or lacking in moves.

"Uh-hunh. He's from Reno's world, and he's in Terrain with me too, as well as the Reserves, and training on swords with Arthur. We have stuff in common. And he thinks the telekinesis is awesome!" Dinah did a little sitting chair dance at that, shimmy shimmy yay! "Not assuming anything. Waaay too soon. Trying to learn from my last few crushes. But it's cool. To have someone to crush on a little, again." Who did in fact prefer girls, according to him. That was a plus.

"That probably helped. How'd it go?" Dinah asked. "Was he good with it? Did you mention Morgana was part of it too?"

[identity profile] blondecanary.livejournal.com 2009-05-28 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh god that is so annoying," Dinah grumbled, shaking her head. "I'm glad he's not going to try and block it, but it was you guys' idea. Credit where it's due! Grr." She made a face, then shrugged a little and asked, "So when's the first meeting? I'll talk it up to everyone I know if I can tell them a place and time."

[identity profile] blondecanary.livejournal.com 2009-05-28 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, reeeeeeeally?" Dinah said, propping her head on her hand, and giving Francine the big inquisitive eyes. "Is this good distracted? Or oh-my-god-we-have-joint-broken-ankles distracted?"

[identity profile] blondecanary.livejournal.com 2009-05-28 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
"But you don't have any bandages or bruises and you're not bleeding!" Dinah said, following this logic to its conclusion. "So I have to ask!"

[identity profile] blondecanary.livejournal.com 2009-05-28 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, whoa, hi, panic attack," Dinah said, looking intimidated, then worried. "You're not giving up thought, right? Maybe a different chapter?"

[identity profile] blondecanary.livejournal.com 2009-05-28 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
And now Dinah was dying to know which chapter. "Which chapter--" She cut herself off, and shook her head. "I'm sorry it didn't help you. It at least cleared up some stuff for me. Even if Tony was really way more helpful." She raised her fist. "Never give up. Never surrender!" John Quincy Taggart would so approve of this.

"Waaaay no. She's probably caused a few." Dinah faced the computer and gave her hair a flip, then adopted a breathless, silly voice. "Computer? Please specify nearest available male with a pulse. Ooo! Computer? Monitor his pulse while I check his vitals."

[identity profile] blondecanary.livejournal.com 2009-05-28 03:41 am (UTC)(link)
Dinah cracked up this time, and then reached to poke Francine in the shoulder. "Maybe? Maybe that would work?" she asked, still giggling. "You could show him Galaxy Quest and then go from there. Better than porn!"

[identity profile] blondecanary.livejournal.com 2009-05-28 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
"Neeeever happen," Dinah said comfortably. "You're way less plastic and way cooler." Be good, be good, be good.... "Although, you could always get a shirt like one of hers?"

[identity profile] blondecanary.livejournal.com 2009-05-28 04:04 am (UTC)(link)
Dinah snickered at the face Francine made. "You could skip the superglue and duct tape as too ouchy for socializing, and maybe skip the prayer?"

[identity profile] blondecanary.livejournal.com 2009-05-28 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
Dinah gave her a cheerful, hopeful look that probably said more than words.

[identity profile] blondecanary.livejournal.com 2009-05-28 04:21 am (UTC)(link)
Hopeless giggling, and then, "Okay, okay, I'll quit making suggestions." She grinned. "But just remember, I have those supplies from Tony if they're ever needed!"

[identity profile] blondecanary.livejournal.com 2009-05-28 04:54 am (UTC)(link)
"No! Of course not! Wasn't suggesting you were!" Return-flail triggered. "'Cause... not my business, not that much! Just. Sometime. In case! In case, of, you know. Cases?"
