For a relatively neat person (god help her in the room she was moving to) Francine Peters sure had brought/acquired/magnetically attracted a metric crapload of... well. Crap.

Which all needed to be carried down the 5th floor hallway before the picnic today.

At least there were no stairs involved?

[Primarily for EarsPratTinyBlondeWithIssues and the soon-to-be-ex-but-never-unbeloved roomie if so desired, and massive SP for four different time-zones yo - but if anyone else wants to pop in and help move, sure!]

"If you don't say 'who's there' I can't finish the joke," Francine said with a bit of a pout. "And Merlin doesn't trip over his feet. ...There's usually something there." Frequently hers. Shush.

"You're right," Arthur told Francine, pulling an exaggerated thinking face. "There's usually ground, or air. Sometimes, the tip of his boot."

Then he threw Merlin a grin.

"Boys." Katchoo rolled her eyes, a little exaggeratedly, and heaved a sigh. "All right, all right, geez. Who's there?"

"No, we're people who are moving things," Arthur acquiesced, at that, and eyed both Francine and Katina with some confusion.

. . . yes, that made tired knock-knock jokes worthwhile, and Katchoo didn't bother to pretend she wasn't snickering at them.

Though she did heave a sigh, all melodramatic-like. "Police who?"

"Just for that," Katchoo managed to get out between groans (and valiant attempts to refrain from shooting Looks of Doom at Merlin), "I oughta not let you in at all."

"You already did," Francine pointed out. "It would've been funnier if you'd said it when you were supposed to."

And then you might very well have been locked out while holding the suitcase you just dropped on the floor, Francine. But by all means, continue not to think these things through.

"Where do you want these?" Merlin asked, shaking his head at them both and steadfastly ignoring Arthur's look. Really. Not noticing it at all.

"Were you planning to hang the stuffed animals from the ceiling right now?" Arthur asked, breaking the look long enough to shoot an almost equal one at the offending creatures in question.

It'd been a while since he'd been the one waiting on orders.

". . . stuffed animals from the ceiling." Katchoo was going to get murdered for smoking in the room from now on, wasn't she? "Y'know, I could do that part later."

It'd require a ladder, possible strained tendons, and lots of swearing, granted.

"I know this is probably a shock? But I know how to handle tools."

Oh, Katchoo. You think you're so funny.

"She does," Francine confirmed, ever the straight-woman. She gave them all a look. "But it's just a pet-net. You put it up with thumbtacks. I can do it myself."

"And the rest?" Merlin prompted, a bit lost on the pet-net business.

"The rest, I believe, is still in Francine's room," Arthur said, kindly.

Mostly because he couldn't take any more knock-knock jokes or Merlin being an idiot about them. This was why he was heading for the door.

A pet-net. Geez. Well, this room was going to end up being some kind of study in contrasts or something; some specialist in some boring field somewhere might have a field day with it.

That thought was somehow less important than . . .

"Oh good god, there's more?"

"Another suitcase, some books, my computer, the blankets and a couple more boxes of sweaters," Francine confirmed. Katchoo had met her family; the sweater issue should not be a surprise.
