The Woods: Sunday Night
What the hell was it with holiday festivals? Francine wasn't pondering that too hard as she ran sobbing away from this one. What brain she had left that wasn't on meltdown was mostly concerned with why and what and there must be something wrong with me.

But, having heard the call of the wild Arthur and found it coming from one Francine, he couldn't help but follow after her once she fled.

Yeah, that resolve lasted about thirty-five seconds, before she stopped and turned to look at him, face already a mess. "I-- Oh, Merlin." Warning. Warning. Complete meltdown imminent.

Sadly, if he was hoping for anything coherent once she stepped into his arms and started sobbing in earnest, he was going to have a bit of a wait. He might at least manage to make out "...Katchoo..." in there, though, along with a "...don't know what I did wrong..."

"What happened?" He asked again, manfully ignoring his soon to be soaked shoulder.

"No, I'm not, but I kind of thought I was to Katchoo. Do you..." The part of Katchoo that was still sane would probably be happy that Francine still hadn't had the crazy optimism beaten out of her yet. "Do you think there's something wrong with her?"

"That's the only explanation for this," He said firmly.

"Maybe," she said at last. "I'd feel better if we asked somebody who already knows about this kind of thing before we go trying stuff on our own."

"Maybe I do after all. Come with me?" She dabbed at her face again and pulled away, pointing down the path towards town.

Gods of all stripes help them if it wasn't and they ended up wandering in the preserve all night.
