Room 505: Tuesday Night

Thoroughly showered and de-veggie-gutted, Francine, wet hair draped over her shoulder, was picking at way too much take-out from the diner and eying the tray of lemon squares like she might just skip dinner entirely and go straight to dessert.

Any resemblance to the picking she was doing at events of this week in general or last night in particular was purely coincidental. In some universe.

[OOC: For various members of the clustre du fucque.]

"Hey. I haven't been drinking as much lately," Katchoo objected, nudging Francine lightly with her forearm. "And you don't have to apologize, honey."

"You're good at a lot of things. Stop selling yourself short," Katchoo said firmly.

"You told Dinah, and I didn't even ask you to." That sort of made up for the cut-off end of the sentence. "It's not like there's classes you can take in this, Francie. I don't even know if there's rules."

Katchoo laughed. "I might've heard something about one stashed in the library, right at the end of . . . actually, no. No secret handbook. If there is, nobody told me."

"Maybe there are. I've never looked. Besides." Katchoo, struck by the vague sensation that perhaps the intarwebz should be trembling with apprehension, shrugged. "Books are just . . . books. Written by people who don't know you, or what you've gone through."

"Is this something I can't help you with?" She wasn't exactly the most objective party here.

"Stop apologizing, Francine." If Katchoo sounded a little tired, she really was. Beating up on purple vegetable-things took it out of you. "I don't mind, from you."

The word still didn't have the best associations for her, but dammit, this was different, or should be.

"That only works for cheesy mystery novels, I think." Katchoo found herself a nice untomatoey shoulder to use as a pillow. "Unless you already know how the story ends. But they always say the interesting part is getting there."
