* Now lives in THE FUTURE with husband bridge_carson, as well as multiplez and now time_flyer_5
* Has an eye-patch and a sense of humor about it.


Francine Peters:

* Is from Strangers In Paradise
* Which veers back and forth between comedy, romance, and crime drama like a VW bus full of hippies being driven by a guitar player on peyote. Just saying.
* Is actually named Helen Francine Peters, but goes by Francine. (Will also answer to Francie or Fran.)
* Is staaacked, and on the Juno-esque side in general.
* Has a white streak in her hair and a brand shaped like an extremely dirty lily on her left breast, both of which are variations on canon events and came about because she
* Is a little bit psychic, mostly restricted to possible stuff in her own future, people she cares about being in danger, and calmly conversing with the ghost of her dead great-grandmother without realizing it.
* Likes food and cooking, especially baked goods. It shows. Likes children. Likes Elvis and the Beatles. Likes you. Unless you hurt someone she cares about.

* Is -- finally -- kind-of-sort-of dating BFF/roomie/sooooooooulmate thismaskiwear, but it's still complicated. Francine is still way way way way waaaaaay in the closet, partly because she really is about 90% straight and is still coming to terms with making an exception for Katchoo, and partly because as accepting as Fandom is, it doesn't negate the effects of 17 years with an absentee dad and a well-meaning but conservative Christian mom.

So it seemed worth saying, having stolen the point from bitch_prince, that Francine+Katchoo=OTP111!!! isn't common knowledge in Fandom. That Merlin and Francine aren't dating anymore is. That Katchoo had a Thing for her is probably pretty obvious. But that they're a couple (not that Francine's even worked up to saying that), not just really close BFFs, is something only a handful of people know for sure. Francine's told one person who isn't Chewie, Merlin or Arthur. (Okay, we're up to three now. :-P ) That the girls were on a date has been said on the radio once, with plenty of leeway for squirrel-gossip.

I bring it up not because it's a state secret and your character's not cool enough to know, or because I mind anybody suspecting/asking/overhearing something. Feel free, please do, I'm overjoyed to play with it. It's just that it's a Big Damn Deal for Francine -- something that she doesn't manage to come to terms with in canon until she's almost thirty. So having it be common knowledge though FH osmosis takes away the (hopefully mutual) fun of trying to deal with her ever-so-glacially sticking her nose out of the closet.

ETA: Okay, not so glacially. As of February 2010, it pretty much is common knowledge, thank you Dean Stinson! (I say with love, because the way it happened totally works for me.) Which doesn't mean that she's not still jumpy about it, or that she's -- ahahaha -- told her family.
